More M14 Problems

Jun 30, 2008 9:07pm
I was shooting my CA m14 scout in my backyard today with Javlin .25g BBs, then all of a sudden my gun stopped firing BBs. When it shot it made this wierd grinding noise. It was still cycling but it sounded way different then usual. It makes less noise then usually does when fired because of it too. When i pull the trigger i would hear it make that wierd noise and no bbs would come out. Then i tip the gun forward and 6 bbs roll out of the barrel. I checked the nozzle and it still moves back and forward when i shoot. The piston recently broke and i replace that like a week ago. What is it now....

sounds like you stripped a gear. Or broke a tappet plate.

nope neither i had this happen with my ca G3 and it was just a jam get the jamming rod you got with your gun and get the bb out of the chamber

i took out my whole barrel assembly and it still sounded the same. Thats what i thought it was too at first, until i checked my barrel and there was nothing in it. I hope i didnt strip my piston, i just bought it last saturday.

if you bought it from aex, it should still be under warranty...only thing is that you already took it apart which most likely voids it...

i thought internal parts werent coverend under warranty?

If you don't get any air coming out the nozzle and it sounds like "vrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise then it is most likely a stripped piston.
Check out my FS thread! Lots for sale!

ok im gonna open it. I hope its not a stripped piston, or i will be pissed.

I wouldn't open it on your own, take it to the shop and have it looked at.

I bought a CA reinforced piston because the other ones didnt fit properly. I am running an m120 in it. I had my old piston for about 6months until it broke. I dont want to anger my parents by having them drive me over there to get my gun fixed again.

Maybe your piston head fell off?

Awesome. My piston is stripped. I am pretty sure the piston head fell off too. When i opened my GB, my piston head was stuck in the cylinder with the the cylder head. I have an aluminum piston thought. Should i use it?

Use a CA piston. And then red loc-tite on the threads for your piston head.

I would, but i dont have one anymore. What is the difference between a ported and non ported piston head?
Jun 30, 2008 11:33pm
The difference between a ported and non-ported head is the the ported has little holes to push out the O-ring and make a sufficient seal. Well, that really sucks Jordan. I have some left over pistons and heads if you do some research to see if the JG pistons will fit.

Yes it does suck. How do i remove a piston head that doesnt have a screw on the outside?
