I've got the gun stripped down and I want to take a peak at the gear box [this is my sportline that does nothing but sit around...great way to learn] but I can't remove the fire selector switch which is holding the gearbox inside right now. How do I go about removing this?
The selector doesn't need to be removed to remove the gearbox from the lower. Have you removed the stock tube, pistol grip, mag catch, rear pin, and punched out the trigger pin yet?
I'll punch out the trigger pin no problem but how do I remove the mag catch?
On the button side there is either a small phillips head screw or hex
