so I made my stupid mind up and i am going to order a m15a4 rifle in a couple days. I'm going to pick up a 9.6 3600 mah batter and charger with it but I wanted some input on range and accuracy upgrades along with any prudent durability upgrades.

You dont need a 9.6. You dont need an after market hop unit or bucking. You dont need a new barrel.

I dont have an answer for you. I'm just going off my experience. Get a knowledgeable person with a chrono to go through ALL of your guns and you will get more FPS for the same amount of wear.

I have two guns with PPA 110s in them. They both shoot 400. They actualy started over 400 but setteled down after 1000-2000 shots.

I get as much as 400 FPS out of the PPA100 springs....as much as 415 FPS out of PPA 110 springs...I had the hop set for Toytec .25g bbs but chronoed those guns with Toytec .20g BBs.

im glad you're happy with what you're getting :P

I will be using .25's exclusivly. perhaps I will just order it with the basic upgrade whuch ubclues a spring and piston head and ask for 380 fps and let them sort it out.

I've heard that accuracy begins to fall off as you pass the 340 fps point. So my personal choice here would be an SP100 with a TM piston swap and .25g BBs, and a 6.04 barrel.

is that 340 with a .25 or 340 with a .2 but shooting 310 with .25's?

Cylinders do not strip. If it does, you're replacing more than that part.

yea piston thats what I meant. So TM piston and head not a differant brand? are the TM stock better than the aftermarket stuff on AEX?

Notice how i repetitively push for TM on every other post and nobody posts that its a bad choice.

see the only thing that is keeping me from going with a TM is that front section looks a little weak. the outer barrel is really thin and with reports of barrel wobble I thought that it might be a better choise to get the Ca since its a little more stout, especaly on that front section. If I wasn't going for a full length M16 it wouldn't be an issue I can just see snapping that front section off. Am I wrong?

The TM M16 has little barrel wobble, and its sturdier than it looks because TM uses quality materials.

that sounds very primising if you can mount a 203 on it with no trouble. is the outer barrel still that little skinny thing or have they beefed it up in the newer model? it dose interest me that most the listed upgrades for the CA are TM stock parts. the only thing that was swaying me what the fear of wobble. maybe i should look into it a little more and see if its been updated. I'm going to paint the gun anyway so metal body dosn't concern me that much. you have managed to sway me a little. just a little more to go and you might have me. is there much of a weight differance between them?

also still a little confused on the springs. some people claim 330 with a sp100 some claim 380. I don't want to go over if I put in a 110 and barrel and piston head. However a nice 360-380 would be my target for .2's so I would be around 340-350 with .25's

thanks for the word on the guarder spring I will get a m100 then. good thing you chimed in I was going to order a 110

get either an M100 (about 350 fps) or an SP 100 (about 380 fps, better with .25g for your needs)
