hmm wierd. with a slim diet like tht combined with your working out id think youd lose more than 4 pounds. but im also not an expert lol. and you said u cut out soda (which i hear is the result of alot of peoples weight problems]
1st. CUT YOUR PORTION SIZE. You would be amazed how much weight you can lose by cutting your portion size. If you are a hefty eater i would go as far to say cut your portion size in 1/2.
You just got killed by a Daewoo Lanos...How You like me now?
I know a few people that have used this method, and it worked for them.
try to drink 1-2 gallons of water a day. It sounds to me you are having too much carbs

Hey man, I have taken nutrition/exercise bio classes at UCD. (And that happens to be my major) Firstly, you are doing well. Keep in mind that any permanent weight loss program (or exercise routine) will take some time to show significant improvements. Keep eating the right things like you are doing: vegetables, whole grains, and good protein, and water or fat free/low fat milk (boneless/skinless chicken breast, boiled/poached egg, etc) for the protein. You are also increasing your cardiovascular strength when you run, so that is a good thing as well. One thing I will say is this: weight loss/fat burning is about sustained heart rates. There needs to be a net NEGATIVE calorie intake if you are going to lose pounds. Basically, to burn fat you have to burn more than you take in. This doesn't mean you need to count calories and all that other b.s. Rather, attempt to portion down. Eat good food until you are satisfied, and not FULL. And your exercise routine should be extended. Instead of running 1 mile, run for 30mins. Doesn't have to be at a fast pace, just a good consistent jog. But aim for that 30 min mark. This will keep your heart rate elevated and help burn fat. Any cardio workout is effective at burning fat only after about 20 mins. That's because your body uses the fuel that you eat first, and THEN will move to the fat reserves.

I'm in the same boat as you Faint...though I haven't been working out constistnatly so thats part of my issue. Anywyas, my two cents:
It sounds like you're doing fine. Make sure to spread your meals throughout the day. Instead of having 3 square meals, have 5-6, but taking in the same amount of calories you would if you were just eating 3. That way, you'll keep your metabolism up.
Yeah it sounds like you have only lost four lbs because you have turned most of the fat into muscle, which weighs more than fat.
Shall we put it this way?
When are you eating dinner? If you eat it too late and sleep within 2-3 1/2 hours the food is there for stored because it not needing to be used during zzzzzzz's.
Once, while having sex in a tractor trailer, part of goody's sperm escaped and got into the engine. We know know this truck as optimus prime.
Adding onto what everyone said...
the thing to also remember is a natrual balance diet is better then anything else manly becuase when you are odne dieting ou wont cras, you wont ballon and your body will already be eating fine and will be sued to eat
i have an even better idea, go to mexico, drink ALOT of water, get a tapeworm from it, and lose weight!!!!

All the prior advice is good, but have you considered other forms of exercise besides just running. Mainstream sports is an awesome way to get into shape. I use my basketball regiment from high school and its an overall killer to your whole body. Every inch of my body gets some sort of work out with this shooting regiment. High intense sports can help you build cardio, burn fat, while also distracting you with the competitive aspect of it. Also have you taken a Body fat test? The actual number amount of weight you have does not reflect your physical condition, its about body fat percentage. Don't follow BMI its horribly inaccurate because it doesnt take in the fat/muscle ratio.
This is a side goal, the main go is to reenlist with the Marines, I have finished all the paperwork required to enlist, now I need to get back into shape, The goal is 18.0 BMI, and yes boy's and girl's that is the goal, don't sit her and tell me that the system is flawed and doesn't work. I don't care about that. What I care about is hitting 18.0.

For me... I'm trying to get fit to enlist in the military. I was told to start getting in shape so I could cope with the physical stress before I get in there next summer, when I go off to basic.
