AK Tips
The infamous wire, I've spent 24621468218472 dollars on fixing up an AK that a good friend (ferg) hooked me up with, but i can not get the top plastic reciever peice on for the life of me. whats the magic trick? maybe forward me a link of how it is supposed to look (the wire?) ? I've done it before but i never actually payed attention to how it sat, i just tried until it fit well.....but this time i dont have the patience.
one common issue I see is people not getting the wires within the notch towards the back of the receiver. There is just enough room for the two wires.

Bring it to me. I'll do it. I'll fit a metal body for you too while I'm at it. (If you like.)
Hey Kevin you have a metal body for an AK that you'd part with?

Oh ok nevermind then lol.
Neo thanks brutha, i got a metal body on it already, i think the issue is the teeth might need to be filed a little bit? i had to dremmel the selector switch and the screw-holes for the stock a little bit.

Yeah i got it on but the right side (with the ejection port cover) just doesn't stay down at all, something is pushing it up so there is a big gap.
Got fed up with the metal body, it's of good quality but the tolernaces are just a little off and i don't want to spend any more time with it, so As of now my AK has the full stock wood kit with the Gaurder metal front end, along with the ribbed top cover, and just reverted to the plastic bocdy. it's still peeeeeeeeeyamp!
Dude. Go get the DTP one from AEX and I'll put it on for you. The only thing wrong with the one you had was the lack of adequate tabs to hold the plastic battery plate on. The DTP metal bodies are top notch. And they're inexpensive. Glenn and I got ours for $55, and you saw how well it fit on my AKBS.
i would also, seen dtp's fit best over most. Havent seen the G&G magnesiums, they looks better in color, but not sure on fit, the DTPs color is a bit off.
Hey Kevin....so you would definately recommend the DTP over CA or any of the other metal AK bodies? I am asking cause I am heading to AEX today to get one and I want to get the best functioning AK metal body versus the best looking metal body. Thanks man.
it all fit as well as it would, I might put it back on, my AK wasn't cycling reliably, and i assumed it had to do with the body interfering with the nozzle movement, but i think my battery might be dead!
Bleh. Bring it back to me sometime and just leave everything with me. By everything, I mean all the small parts too. Everything that's needed to put it back together without having to open it up again.
the only issues with it are
Bug me again anyways. That sliding stock makes me gun look so sweet that it's the least I can do for you.
hahah that is so tight, i bet it looks rad, so you already got the bolt and hooked it up? man i want one now, it looked cool when we heald it on the SD!
DOH! I just noticed that you tried to call me last night. I was working in the garage and away from my phone. Sorry, dude. Perhaps I should call you later instead.
the status of the AK is flawless now except the selector switch doesn't work in Full auto unless i go all the way down to Semi first.
