Re-enlisting
Well ever since I got out back in 2004 I have wanted to re-enlist. I have finally decided that I am going to do so, but I will not be going back in as 11B1P (Airborne Infantry), I am thinking about going in either 45B: Small Arms and Artillery Repair, 89B Ammunition SPecialist, or 31E Corrections Specialist. I chose these jobs because they are all jobs I am interested in, qualify for, and have potential jobs for when I end up getting out later in life. Just curious if anyone on here that is in the military has any info on these MOSs' ? I will be going back down to set up a date for MEPS on Monday so if you have some info post up. Thanks
There's a guy in my Drill Sergeant unit that has the MOS of Corrections Specialist and he absolutely hates it.
thanks for your input. While doing what research I can ( not much forum info anywhere) I have decided to go with small arms and artillery repairer.
That's funny Im going back in and one of my top choices is a 45B, going down next thurs to take my physical, Others are Cav scout and Paralegal
$15k? I thought it was $20k now...
Go with weapons and you won't regret it. That's what I currently do for the northern part of CA from bakersfield up to oregon. It a good field to be in. I'm part of a weapons contact, repair, and modifications team for CA national guard. Its a good gig. Forgive my typing as I am sending this from my blackberry

[quote]He's trying to reclass because he's been pulled by two different units to go overseas. That's just one perspective on that MOS but he did say that it got him a job once he was out as a corrections officer but he hated that job too and now works for TSA.

I'm just about the only person I know that is re enlisting after my first term is up. aside from the bullshit I like the military. Still i'm thinking about retraining. Either going to try to do a stint as a recruiter or retrain to airfield managment once my beale tour is over
