is there really much of a point of putting magnifying optics on any AEG? I can see the need on a spring sniper but on an AEG is there really any need for anything beyyond a red dot site?
current gun Echo 1 614 (430fps), TM m16a2 (365 fps), TM high-capa 5.1 ( 330 fps )
is there a NEED for anything in airsoft. no. but it looks cool and if you have the money/want why not.

well I can see how a red dot could help with target aquisition, So its usefull but having a 3-9x scope on a gun with effective range of only 200 feet seems silly especaly when you have full auto

there is no real point in putting a magnifying scope on an aeg, unless the scope only has like 2x magnification. your scope would not really be over powered for your range. but you are right. your never gonna need 3-9x magnification on an aeg.

i have a replica ACOG on my M4 and it actually helps me, since i can see where my bbs are heading and adjust accordingly if they are straying due to wind. Also, really helps with target recognition.
I don't carry a gun to scare people.

I used to have a red dot with a 2x lens that looked good on everything from my VN to my revolver.
