Andrew's big bad holster thread
Instead of going more and more off topic in dudes WTB thread, I'll copy/paste some info and continue the discussion of holster that work and why the ones that suck, suck.

didnt ever really think of it like that, i should probably pick one up.
What do u mean by "Uncle Mike"? I am on a budget and i saw some of the bladetech holsters are pretty expensive.

Having a good holster also prevents you from dropping your pistol :P

How much do you spend on your pistol?

I agree how important a good holster is. Thank you for the great info.

Drew, how do you feel about the Serpa series? I have had one for my RS 1911 for about a year and I love it. I've since bought the dropleg platform for it but have yet to get a TM 1911. Y'know "train as ya fight" so to speak :) I've wanted to field a safariland for quite awhile but its hard to drop $100 plus dollars on a new holster when I have one that works perfectly. More or less just asking if you have an opinion on the serpa's and if you know of any comparisons.

I have to agree with Andrew. Cloth holsters suck I have had mags drop out and never found them. Losing a 45$ mag sucks. I had an unlce mikes for my old TM 226 and I loved it, worked awesome. I also got to use a blade tech for a 226. AMAZING comfort and it worked extremely well.
Trza you live in CH??? like only guy i know that does.. on here. well if you dont count the ppl who work at aex.
this is all great info but what should a person with a desert eagle do?

Im not sure would this one work?
not sure if i missed it but i didn't see anything about a d-bird in that link
I couldnt find any "gun" specific holsters on that webpage. Thats whyI said WOULD this one work. They seemed to make there holsters to encompass a large variety of guns. Because if you scroll down that page and click on the "Gun" tab there like 30 different ones :D
sweet. would it scratch up my silver gun though? sorry for thread jack
Safariland is the way to go, hard shell protects it, releasing the retention is natural, soft inside protects the finish of your gun while holstering too :P. Not to mention you can adjust how firm the holster holds your gun for draws.

In close range combat, an unsuspecting melon will get the back of its melon blown off.

I have a Safariland 6305 for my TM 1911.
The Safariland 6004 I have for my Hicapa 4.3 is made for a Springfield Operator. Mike 9mm has a 6004 for the same gun but the holster is made for a Railed Frame Kimber 1911.
