While I was taking my high caps apart, I was spinning the wheel and noticed that a small spring is pushed against it. The spring is to my knowledge there to stop the the wheel from spinning backwards. Heres what it looks like...

If you remove it, what will hold the tension? If you try and pad it, can you be sure it'll still reliably catch on the teeth?

Only sound from hi caps would be when you are winding and when your hicap unwinds after using up the bbs in the feed tube.
