The type of bat depends on the room in the gun for it. Some guns have a more limited space and can only take a small Battery. You can usualy get a bat box to attach to the outide of the gun to hold a larger battery . In general the higher the Mah the longer the battery will last on the field. The chargers that they give are usualy 4 hr chargers. If you decide to go with a gun that takes a mini or stick (AK Batt) you will probably need 2 batterys or have to use a field charger and charge it at the field. I have gotten by with just one before.

mini vs. large refers to the physical size of the battery. The size battery each gun uses is determined by the space the gun has to house the battery. Like the M4A1 has a mini battery in the foregrip, while the SR-16 has a large battery in the butt-stock because it has more space. If you are planning on upgrading your gun, you should think about using an upgraded battery. The voltage is how much power the battery is capable of, the Mah refers to basically its potential run time.

thanks everyone for the info. hey kmag, what is the difference between the 350 fps and the 400 fps upgrade in terms of what goes into the gun. spring, bushings, and what else? and is it better to get the 400 fps upgrade? thanks!

sorry, one more question, so is it bad to get a gun with a large battery because it doesn't last as long? is there any way you can make a mini battery last as long as a large battery?

think about it dude, which would batt would last longer, a large or mini? hmmm....lol

Only problem with a 400 fps gun is that you are very limited to areas where you want to play. Most places have an fps limit of 350 or lower. As of now, Sacair is the only place I know that plays with a 400 fps limit.

The 350 upgrade they do is a standard spring and bushings it usualy will arive shooting about 360 then after a time go to the 350. No other parts are upgraded. If you can, go for a gun with a large Bat as they last longer then the small ones. Large 9.6 or 8.4 3000 mah batterise are available on ebay for about $20. new

what kind of spring does the upgrade come with? systems 120 or pdi 170? thanks

it doesnt actually matter what spring you get... you choose your fps. some m100's go up to 370, some m120's reach 450, hey even some stock springs can get 350's....= ). so whoever does your upgrade will only upgrade to whatever fps you tell them to get.

I dont know what spring they use. Most likely it is a systema 110 or 120 as cost less

what's your budget? an M100 spring (~350 FPS) and bushing upgrade will suffice the need for punch...range will be increased as well...
get a high capacity battery...most AEGs have custom batteries already built for them (might require some easy modifications on the rifle)....
"Hey dude... why is your foregrip on your gun so out of proportion?"
Oct 21, 2003 1:25am
I heard somewhere you can mod the foregrip of the Sig to fit a bigger battery... not sure if it's true or not. I haven't read anything online to back it up.

hey i was wondering if most of you guys convert your battery plug things to the bigger standard american ones. Or do you guys buy the batterys with the smaller plugs or just cut the wires on the gun and the battery for better plugs,
Oct 21, 2003 2:47am
depends, large batts have large adapters, mini batts have mini adapters...
Oct 21, 2003 3:21am
I have put deans on all mine. Makes it easyer with only 1 type of plug and they are smaller then the others
Oct 21, 2003 3:24am
To modify the old sig you could use 4/5th A batterys then run 2 under the bat area in the bottom of the forgrip. I had my 551 that way. I have not looked at the 552 yet
