That is where ya is kinda stuck . The only way to get it to 550 is to do the full upgrade . ( That I know if ) Then u have to change stocks to get a big enough battery that will last for any amount of time . and with it being a AEG you never know how long it will last ..... May want to think about the gas sniper rifles or spring .

Ask poser/Erik if he has some upgrade parts for sale. I know he had some Systema gears and cylinder set from a FTK set not to long ago.

how well will the stock gears work on 450fps?
Feb 28, 2005 6:17pm
stock gears will wear down quicker...

ok, well y i asked if the stock gears will work is because im not going to replace them right away.

Well a lot of guys run 400 fps with stock gears in their full-auto AEGs... Since yours will run semi only, that's gotta count for something? If I only wanted 450 fps out of it, I might try stock gears, with the expectation that they may need to be replaced at some point in the future. I would think that a tightbore barrel in PSG length would help you hit 450 fps with a weaker spring than one would need for a normal length AEG. Throw in an M120-equivalent spring and see how close you can get to 450 fps without needing a heavier, gear-destroying spring

well arent theere springs that are just for the psg1? i thouht that only the psg1 type springs would fit? i probalby will wind up upgrading everything but im just doing things one by one.

Yes. I believe I mentioned an "M120-equivalent" spring. Use a PSG spring of the same power as an M120 and see how fast it goes before trying a heavier spring. With a tightbore and Infinity BBs or AE BBs, it might be close to 450.

snoopy, how well did your psg1 preform? how accuate ect.
Mar 4, 2005 7:38am
i'm guessing not even 1000 rounds before the gears wore down with the 180% spring

If you use stock gears and 7mm bearings + perfect shimming, at 400 fps they will last longer than most expect. They are a kinda weak zinc...I hate it when people say they are plastic :|
