Matching Spring with Gear ratios?

I currently have an SP 140 spring in my MC51 along with other upgrades. I had my friend shoot me with my own gun at 10 feet and decided to I want to cool it down. If I don't want myself to get hit by a BB going at that velocity, I figure no one ever will.

Most fields have a 400fps limit with 0.2g bbs so you may want to get an SP110. Most guns shoot around 380-410fps with that spring. No, you don't need to replace the gears since you're going down in spring tension. But if you have stock gears laying around, you may want to put those back in to decrease trigger pull/shot delay. Many peeps have gone through tens-of-thousands of bbs with stock Marui gears(using a ~400fps spring), including myself. There must've been another problem which caused your "chipped gear teeth" situation.

Would a 9.6v 3300mah battery, using a stock spring with hi torque gears, knock out teeth? The battery was the cause of of the teeth breaking a I believe.

Okay. Thanks guys =). In that case, I just hope that it wouln't happen again. My current set up has successfully gone through approx only 6000 shots without problem. Totally appreciate you help!
