Iam looking into getting a used military humvee and was wondering if any one has any places I should look.
I don't know where that Skunk Ape sleeps, but I do know that he had impure relations with my wife.
Used Military HumVees.

My buddy picked one up from a local "wheel and deals" type publication. It was beat to hell but ran. He paid high teens for it. They used to hold their value pretty damn good, but in this economy you probably have a great shot at getting a deal.

Ya I would love to find a project one. Maybe I am being optimistic about the gas. I do have a honda also so not worried to much about the gas.

The Humvee is a diesel, so just install a fuel tank heater and you can run it off waste vegetable oil from fast food joints. The only place they charge for it is 4 cents a gallon in San Francisco.

I read that they aren't DOT aproved for on highway so you can't even get them. I don't know if that's true, I read it in a 4x4 magazine years ago, and I don't always trust that magazines are the most relible sorce, but it's something to look into.

A lot of the ones that I have seen go threw companies that fix all the DOT issues.

Yeah, I think the magazine said you couldnt' get them through government surplus.. I don't really remember I just remember being kinda bummed becuase I thought a Humvee would be rad to roll around town.

I know you can get government trucks, I just don't know about humvees. That place in orville has lots of duce and halfs, but no humvees (at least not last time I was there). Like I said, I don't really know, I just read that they were not DOT aproved for on highway and therefor you can't buy them surplus.
