Flash hiders

Jan 18, 2005 7:06pm
Ok so im really really new, i've been on the board for months but my girlfriend and I finally got guns yesterday and will be out soon, had one question though, this is where you know exactly how new I am. I got a marui Mp5 and a classic army M15a4 I was curious as to how you change the orange flash hider to the black one, I noticed a small pin in the hider, how are these taken out. Thanks a lot everyone.

What you need to do is take a butter knife or small screwdriver and put it thru the little slits in the flashhider and twist off . Some models are counter clockwise and others are clockwise . Once you start turning it you should find out which way it will move . If you have any problems bring them back to the shop and we can do it for ya

You also may want to undo the set screw you were just talking about in your orange flash hider (You called it a "pin") before trying to force it to turn, or you could strip some of your threads. You should use a 1.5mm hex wrench to remove that set screw.

Yep. I've gotten a couple of guns with orange plastic tips and they were held on with set screws. I'd rather play it safe and check than "force" anything. That's what amatuers do.

Never had any Orange Flash Hinders on any of my AEGs.

Oh yeah, one last thing, NewRecruit12. If your flash hider is just glued on, instead of forcing it, another thing that I've found to work is to use a blowdryer to heat it up to soften the glue. It usually makes it easier to remove. Good luck and enjoy your new guns.

Wait, Ronnie. Can you do that as a pie chart instead? I learned about visual aids in one of my classes before and they said that pie charts work really gooder.

Uneducated ...Yes that is what I said ..... Are you saying that you know EVERYTHING about airsoft guns ? I know I don't . I don't know crap about lots of things . I will be the first to admit it and admiting it is half the battle . ( Phew I guess I get my first step coin ) . Now as far as you go snoop , You know I have respect for you and your airsofting abilities , So why you would state openly that you would not be bringing any of your guns to our shop is beyond me , but I guess you have the right to state that .
