externally there's no comparison. The VFC is night and day compared to Echo 1. If you're wondering about comparisons look at the CA SCAR. As far as internals are concerned it's an ACM gearbox.

Personally I would wait for the chinese clone scar-h to come out, but if you like the scar-l look better than that would be good choice.

then go to aex/gamepod and hold one. Try it out for yourself.

Ive held it already. But i wanted to know what you guys thought of it. Seeing that a lot of people on here have much better mechanical expertise. Im not saying either of those stores don't know anything but i don't want to have to drive down there and waste gas to find it out when i can on here. IF you guys don't mind.

internally it's v2 gearbox so all problems with the v2 gearbox applies. Echo 1 is a US rebranded chinese clone. Again, it's hard to say since their QC isn't consistent. However, since you understand the risks of that, it boils down to is the finish of the externals. Do you like the feel of it? Does balance well? Is it comfortable for you? Does realism (aka faithful replication) important? Durability of the materials? Again remember we're talking chinese knockoffs here. They are known to skimp out on decent materials to make it cheap and keep it cheap.

I will consider what you just said, freq. And what problems might ver. 2 gearboxes have?

Google it. There's infinite amount of resources on the basic design flaws of the v2 gearbox.

I had recently posted a thread asking whether or not the systema drop-in gearbox is any good, should i put it in the echo 1 scar?

I was looking at the same scar, I havent seen echo at AEX but did look at the Echo scar at GP today, its only 15.00 more than ASGI has it for and comes with the 100 day warranty, the only thing with the GP one is they have them at 430+fps so you may need to downgrade it or leave the spring compressed for a bit to use at 400fps fields. the ASGI one hits right at 400fps but only has the 30 day warranty, but who cares if you're dropping in a systema box.

how long do you expect to leave springs compressed for before it drops in FPS?

Really? Do you have any actual proof to back that up? I'm only asking this because I've left mine compressed for a month a few times and the FPS change is minimal at best. By minimal I mean 5-10 FPS variance too.

Absolutely no proof at all, well except for the one I left in the closet for a year : )

in store reviews are pretty lame. I don't think they'll be giving any horrible review of products they want to sell. The user reviews are pretty much full of the buyers self validation for buying the item. Google it you'll get better answers from general airsoft forums from around the world.

Freq is dead on target, in addition the commercial web site reviews are often employee based to boot.

would it be too much to ask for the link of the review on arnies or wherever you saw the review. Ive been searching and came up with nothing.

Dboys scar is basically the same thing as echo 1. So heres a dboys scar review.
Aug 5, 2008 9:42pm
Thanks steel. But i'll wait for the actual gun because who knows? It may be of better quality. Dboys and echo 1 are both clones but they both are(correct me if im wrong) two different companies. Meaning two different quality standards.
