Greetings from FilForce NY

FilForceI heard Fort Ord closed down? Have they re-opened? That would be great since I always wanted to play that field.

FilForceThey've been open for the last year. I beleive Sean loves to pull the "This will be the last game" bit for Ord to get people to join in. From what I understand, they don't have the large 2 square mile feild anymore. That's been torn down by the city for development (which they still haven't touched)
Ah, I see. I'll check ahead the next time I visit my in-laws in SF since Monterey isn't too far to drive. Thanks for the heads up on that.

FilForceTo my knowledge, theres only one large group operating in the Bay Area, BAASH (Bay Area Air Soft Hobbists). Never been to their events, but the fields that they operate out of look aweosme. Its the limited land and such that makes airsofting difficult in the bay, compaired to the central valley and the Serria Nevadas.
bash games are by invite only. Bay area land is too expensive and people are either too greedy or too liberal to allow people to play on their land.

I figured it's a land use issue since there aren't many paintball fields in the Bay Area. Ironically my brother drives out from the Central Valley to do his airsoft shopping in Santa Clara.

FilForceTheres a AEX in Santa Clara. Which is the only airsoft store for the southern central valley. The other AEXs are up in Oakland and Sac.
I thought here used to be and could still be an airsoft shop out in the CV. Funny, I'd think Sac would be an easier and faster drive for him.

None that I know of. There might be the small hobby shops that sell the odd KSC or other small pistols. There's Garlic City Airsoft, but thats a online only deal I beleive. And they aren't cheap.
Garlic City = Gilroy doesn't it?
Pygmy Militia Group
Yea. Guy basicly runs his business out of his garage last I knew.
The games here are mostly woods. Though some of the fields we play on are also PB fields so they have structures.

FilForceTF20 had some awesome Urban fields in San Jose and Santa Clara. One used to be the Del Monte Food Packing Plant off of Stevens Creek. However, the only thing that stands now is the North wall (where us SacAir guys started out when we played) and the Water tower. Now its just a baren lot waiting to be developed.
Well maybe now with the slowdown in the economy and forclosures, we'll have more empty buildings becoming available. lol.

FilForcelol. If I plan on going cross country for airsoft, I'll be bringing my gear.
Considering folks fly out for John Lu's events, hopefully traveling for airsoft games won't be such an uncommon thing in the future.

FilForceI've traveled from NYC to LA and SF with them. I even wrote a guide: http://www.matrixbb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=919&highlight=traveling

If you give to a charity please think of giving to one of these two charities. The Naval Special Warfare Foundation or Navy SEAL Warrior Fund.
Fresno airsoft stores are basically only good for the very basic stuff, gas, bb's etc. They dont stock much in the way of guns, mostly clones. They also offer repair and upgrade work for those who don't work on thier own guns. I myself drive to AEX Santa Clara when I need stuff, it's exactly 2 hours from my house.
