Blow Back vs Non-Blow Back

Aug 17, 2008 10:51pm
I have a SOCOM MK23 gas non-blow back, its not bad, but big as s**t. and it seems that every time i fire it i have to pull my trigger really hard just for it to shoot and sometimes it gets jammed (yeah i know its an airsoft gun, and most guys i told this to were perplexed.) but it happened. i found this out the other day at CQB City when it wouldnt fire but was still able to surrender 4 guys. anyway, i used my friends barreta and its blow back, i liked the feel of blow back. i just need to know what are some reliable gas blow backs. any ideas?

GBB's can be very reliable. That is, if you buy a reliable brand, and you clean and maintain them on a regular basis.

the KWA and TM glock 18c's are very good in my opinion. they fire in semi and full auto, which is another plus.

Not all TM's are reliable. However, the vast majority of them are. Especially the latest batch of GBB's. These include the G17,P226, 1911, HiCapa 4.3.

I've had TM's, KWA's, WA's, and WE's... I have to say that the WE i had NEVER EVER had any problems until i sold it. I cleaned it after every use like i do my real steel and it always worked perfectly. So did my friends. I don't know why some people have so many problems with them, I can only guess that they don't take as good care of their stuff. Love my WA... its finicky but looks nice :). Had a Mk23 and loved it. Meh on the KWA glock but i'm not a glock fan

which is why I put noobies in quote. But it does seem like just about every new player I've seen in AEX always lean right for those full metal KWA Glocks.

sorry to go off topic here, but I'm about to buy my friend's g18 that I've used for awhile, but how do you maintain them well?
Aug 18, 2008 3:55am
keep all moving parts cleaned and lubricated. Areas where dirt and debris can get in. All seals kept lubricated too. Most of it is common sense. The mags shouldn't really need lubrication/maintenance unless you use straight up propane.

On a quick note about plastic guns.

any form of petroleum based lubricant/grease will destroy plastic partsl.

I own a KWA G17 that I've had for over 2 years. I bought it on a recommendation from Andrew at AEX. It has been my sidearm since day one.
I have always acted in self defense, occasionally pre-emptive self defense.
