Dilema

Ok if you guys had the option of buying either a TOP M249 Para Version or a Guarder RPK Kit for my AK? I'm just curious that's all.

the RPK kit would look sick!

M249's are showing up a lot lately. Think of all the extra money you would need to put into it too. Get RPK.

That's pretty much my thought process as well. I know a few people from the forum have SAW's and they are very nice once you get them shooting right. On the other hand though as far as I know nobody from the Sacramento area has an RPK kit on an AK. I like the idea of having something nobody has yet.

id say RPK... then you get yourself a russian vest and OD camo and go red army with us!

so get the RPK :D and post pics of it if you get it because that will be freekin awsome! i wish i could buy one.

Yeah I'm thinkin I will be a cheap ass though and get the Guarder Kit that's $400+ versus the limited frickin $800+ kit lol.

damn thats too bad,the steel body and barrel and all that is dream, really nice construction compared to the plastic.... dont know why you would consider the $1100 para if you dont want the 800 guarder
Jan 25, 2005 8:05am
Ok you're right about that I'll admit that sounded kinda like a miser and and all lol. My current AK already has a metal body now, are you saying that the wood areas of the RPK are plastic? The longer barrel and the bipod would all be metal one would only hope. I don't know that much about the Guarder Kit other than what Ron has told me when I was in AEX.
Jan 25, 2005 8:23am
oh no i meant plastic by the stock body and the gas block... the RPK kit is wood on the stocks, but the gas block where the barrel connects is plastic, although TGS makes a metal one you can get.

I think I'm just gonna stick to the $400 kit and save some dough for other upgrades on other guns. I think with a drum mag for it it would still rock.

lol steel RPK adds up...

Cool deal thanks for the info. Yeah after hearing that It'll be a long time before I buy a SAW I think. Especially since they don't come with a mag either YUCK!!

Well when you consider that real M249s hold 200rounds of ammo in the boxes and a TM high cap holds 300. You can either carry a 2,000 box mag or a standard load of 8 300 round mags for a total of 2400 rounds.
