Aug 26, 2008 1:40pm
I got my license a few months ago...but I still drive people around (take THAT authority!) I wanna know what the WORST thing that could happen to me if I get caught is

call the non-emergancy police line and ask them.
Aug 26, 2008 2:55pm
98% sure you could loose your license for a couple years

3-5 years, and i was trying to get he kid to call the local PD and maybe think for a second rather than nestling his head up his bung-hole

If the issue is only for driving friends, most likely you would lose your license till your 18. Another, "most likely" is that you won't be stopped unless you are observed violating the vehicle code with your driving. Although a friend of mine has a son who has been stopped a number of times because he doesn't appear like he should be driving the pimped out SUV that he has.

actually they do have the right to pull you over if the driver and occupants appear to be under 18 years of age.

When I was 16 I thought that was a dumb law and drove people around anyway. However, now that I am older and have a little more perspective on things I realize it's actully a pretty good idea. Just wait 6 months, it's not that long and it's actully for your own good believe it or not.

Yep, and depending on what county/city you are in, a lot of cops actually like to look for kids who look young at all with kids in their car, to try and catch them.

uh, all they do is take all the kids out, and they have to wait for their parents to come pick them up. the cop talks to your parents, but doesnt do anything. many cops dont even care...

Regardless of losing your licence and getting in trouble and whatever else, the point is that 16 year old drivers aren't that great to start with. Add in a few friends, and the showing off factor (not saying you do just that a lot of new drivers do) and you have a good way to wreck. Just because you drove around with a permit for 6 months doesn't mean you aren't still learning how to drive safely. I'm not saying that YOU aren't a good driver (for your age). I know I was a "good" driver for my age and when I think about it, I know I wasn't a good driver then. Just be safe and wait. You don't want to lose your licence or have to deal with any trouble, and you sure as heck don't want to crash and wreck your car or worse.

I had a friend that got pulled over for driving another person in his car with a provisional (along with doing 40mph in residential) and he got fined close to $200, but he didn't get anything (other than money) taken away from him.

Just make sure if you spin out and wrap your car around a rock in front of someones house, nobody calls the cops. Don't give out your insurance, just give the person who owns the house your name, phone number, address, and proof of insurance, and tell them you'll pay out of your wallet. Then get towed the f*ck out of there.

I don't encourage this behavior, but my brother wasn't supposed to drive anyone when he got pulled over. My friend and I were in the car. The Officer just looked at us, looked at the license and told my brother that he was getting pulled over because he passed through a drug infested neighborhood and they were investigating.
