Alright, I'm not sure if this belongs in the Gun Tech Talk, or the Newbie Corner... buttt, I'll post it here for now.
Not dumb. Here are a couple links to help you out.

The 100% spring seems about right depending on which brand you buy here some spring charts to help out if you don't have them linked somewhere already:

Alright... so I did buy everything and I got my mechbox broken down and all... but I'm having a bit of a trouble. How do I wrap the spring around the inside of the piston?

Alright, now after returning the Gearbox to the original TM Casing, I set it all up and prepared to fire. My first shot, there was a quick whined, and now nothing. Just a low "bzzt"? Any ideas? I have a hunch that the battery may not be strong enough to cock the spring back. I'm using an 8.4 600mah mini battery with a SP110 Spring and metal bushings
Weak or bad battery. Incorrectly done shim job. Misadjusted motor height. Bad motor. Pinched wiring. Less than fully connected motor contacts.
Alright so I managed to break down the gear box again. Double check that all gears are aligned correctly and nothing is out of the norm. I slap it all back together and found out that the problem originally was that the motor wasn't making contact with the bevel gear.
open up and check compression. Also check to make sure nozzle is seated on tappet plate. Check hopup rubber is seated correctly too.

Alright, I figured out that the nozzle wasn't seated on the tappet plate... haha my bad.
