Airsoft mortar MKII - need your help
Ok so the first model has been a good concept demonstrator. It demonstrates that a quasi-realistic airsoft mortar is possible AND cost effective. However, it does have a few fatal flaws.
Nice. But if I see that end of the barrel pointed at me...

If you give to a charity please think of giving to one of these two charities. The Naval Special Warfare Foundation or Navy SEAL Warrior Fund.

don't forget to thank Home Depot - anything is possible.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.
Holy crap! That's gorgeous!

Thanks Joe! Appreciate it! And MikeD also for the PMs.
I have a cheap bipod you can take off of my hands during the night game. Free since I would be contributing to the awesomeness of this project.
Would be interesting if you got those nerf balls that have the whistles on them.
I don't carry a gun to scare people.
That's a great idea. I'll have to find a way to do that.

Yes, that is Ackbar. Yes, it does mean what you think.
Here's a suggestions for your projectiles:
AWESOME Dom. Should have thought of that sooner. Also going to slice open the foam golfballs and put copper BBs in them to give them more inertia. I'll see if I can get home before dark to test this.

If I get home before dark, I'll try both. I've got 13 golf balls to experiment with.
I have an idea. You cut a base plate out of wood w/ three indents, in the indents u screw in a metal hinge in each indent, then u cut some legs, attach a flat surface( flat piece of metal should work) and connect the legs to the hinge and boom there you go. idk it was a wierd though rattling around in my mind.
THUMPER
Alright, just did a test fire. Got about 150ft at a 45 degree angle. Golfball loaded with 15 .177 copper BBs and stabilized by two 1ft lengths of balloon strength. A bit disappointing to say the least. I was a hoping it'd go at least 200ft.
NICE! That thing has some yardage on it!

It's a decent start. We were hoping for over that fence across the street lol.
