I have a Tokyo Marui Desert Eagle, and i have been wondering if it is bad for the gun if i shoot it without gas, or just pull back the slide when i want to just mess with it. it is brand new, and i don't want to break it within the first week of having it. i know that tokyo marui is high quality, but i wouldn't want to break a $145 gun

Pulling back the slide shouldn't do anything that would cause it to not function. Over time there will be some small external damage, but there will be anyway from shooting the gun.

just keep it oiled, you should be fine
