So I'm going to buy a G&P stubby killer off evike.

brand shouldn't matter and no you don't have to rewire since it's already wired to the rear. But you may have to shorten the wires up.

Would I just do that with wire cutters or what?

wire cutters/strippers, some shrink wrap & soldering iron.
