Ok im in the market for a new computer seeing as mine is well old.
You can probably build a custom computer that performs A LOT better than a store bought pre-made system. That being said, it might even be cheaper in a sense. You can find a lot of good prices on computer parts at Newegg.com, I practically built my computer from that website (and a little help from frys).

See this all depends on what you are using it for....if it's really just for "pr0n" or the like then go to a store and pay $500.00 for one then go and buy yourself a new rifle with the money you just saved from not building one. Buying one in the store has the advantage of having a single warranty for all the parts (don't buy into best buy's extra warranty's as you can always extend the manufacturer warranty after you purchase the item). It also has the advantage that it will be cheaper and you can have it up and running and watching "pr0n" within minutes instead of hours by building your own. These systems will run most games but not have all the bells and whistles and some games possibly won't run on these low end systems. Most games do though in my experiences...
