Craigslist question

Nov 14, 2008 3:05am
I just posted up a lot of stuff for sale on Craigslist. And if someone takes the whole package, it's gonna sell for a lot of money. I want to know how I can protect myself if I'm going to meet someone I've never met, I mean...come on, what's to stop someone from just meeting me and holding a gun to my head? Any safety suggestions, please?

There's no way to tell who is a threat and who isn't. Maybe take self-defense lessons?

Meet at a place that you are familiar with. Even if you go with an authority figure and both of you are unfamiliar with the area, then your authority figure just became as useful as a facial for a leper.

try conduct business in public, have someone with you, make sure you take cash, and if he asks you to go with him to get cash, tell him to get the cash and come back.

meet in a busy place. No one is gonna hold a gun up to your head in a busy area without getting a lot of attention drawn to them.

Well, for one, make sure they're not telling you to ship it to Nigeria. Scam capital of the world.

You could just ask him, "Hey, are you going to rob me when we meet?". That would probally be the best way to avoid any trouble.
