I'll eventually become a M1 Garand packing paratrooper, but for now, it'll have to be a Thompson.

I am going to stress this about weapons. I would actully rather see people useing m14s rather then thompsons. I know they aren't ww2, but they are rifles and MOST GIs had rifles. They are close enough untill people can afford to convert them to garands. If you are really in love with the thompson then by all means, go for it. But if you just want a ww2 gun and that's the only one out there, I would rather you use the m14 untill it can be converted.

Hairy actually makes a very valid point. If you buy a M14 now, you could use it for a few games, then when you mustard up the money you can just buy an M1 Garand conversion kit which isn't to much money.

For all of those looking for cheap gear for a ww2 impression I am working hard on finding a source. Give me a few days and I will hopefully have some more info for you guys. Also, the surplus store on Auburn Blvd has a bin full of M1 helmets. I don't remember seeing any liners and they are all probally VN, but they are probally pretty cheap.

I was searching on Ebay.com and i came along this page, it has a few 1940 ww2 issue jackets, and trousers. And theres like 2 or 3 ww2 pouches. Price on what little they have seem to be damn good for 1940 issue

Whatpriceglory has some very cool stuff. However most of the people I've talked to are not able to afford much right now and are looking to get some cheap stuff to start working at an impression. I noticed that sportsmens guide, cheaper then dirt, and a few other places like that had cheap webgear from time to time and have tracked down where it is coming from. However, I can't find a US dealer that has more then one or two things and they almost all are sold out. I tracked down the supplier but they will only send there catiloge to companies. My parents have a advertising company and do mostly screen printing and clothing... so they can get almost any thing you can imagine wholesale. My mom just had surgery this week and is still in the hospital but should be home either today or tomarrow and I will have her call and see if she can get this stuff. It's cheap and thin and I wouldn't want to use it in combat, however for airsoft it's perfect.

Yeah, personally I don't care about VN helmets vs ww2 m1's. There are such minor differances it just isn't that big of a deal. Put a net or cover and you can't even tell the differance. They can be picked up for SUPER cheap if you look for a deal. I agree helmets are important though.

Most of the people I've talked to about this are planning on an airborne impression, so what I want to know is should I just make this an airborne unit and go that route. Almost everyone seems to want to do airborne... all of those who have actually started buying stuff are planning airborne, so should I just say, we are doing a airborne unit. I'm taking a vote, if you are at all interested in doing a US impression, let me know what you want to do. We are a democracy after all unlike those 12th SS fascist friends. 8)

Is there a age limit? If not Ill join

I say airborne, I mean, come on, every one wants to be the coolest.
Dec 2, 2008 5:52am
Why not leg infantry? Its something different? It seems as though Airborne is used more than enough in airsoft and reenacting and its the same with germans. Everybody wants to do fallshirmjaeger. But hell Airborne would be sweet, I just think it would be cooler to do like 1st infantry, 3rd infantry, or 29th but thats just me. BTW the Tin Soldier in roseville has a whole bunch of WW2 U.S items (i dont think he has any jump suits, but he has plenty web gear, helmets, boots, etc) Hes closing down soon so id get in there.
Dec 2, 2008 6:03am
Really? I'm making a run on Tin Soldier tomorrow.
