ICS MP5 A4 Version 3
Hey Guys, clearly, I'm a new member to this forum and I read just about every thread there is about the ICS product.

I've owned an AE/ICS MP5A4 and I loved it to death. Howver after a short while (4 months or less) I looked up into the magwell and noticed my gearbox is cracked, so I got a replacement and sent it to Gamepod for repairs.

I can't really answer your questions directly, but I can tell you what I have seen first hand of ICS. My friend has had his ICS MP5 for about 2 years now and has had no problems with it at all. And he has used it a lot. Maybe he got lucky becuase I have heard a lot of people say how bad ICS is, but personally I've been pretty impressed. And he is the kinda person that abuses everything he touches. So, what I've seen they don't seem as bad as what I hear. My two pennies.

Thanks guys for the replies, and yes, they were some helpful information. Some of which that has been mentioned around the forum about switching the pistons and stuff.

well for a cheaper price you could get a jg. a as far as ive heard jg is very reliable and it is all metal, and comes with rails most of the time

Interesting about JG being reliable... My only experance with JB wasn't that great. I had a JG mp5 as a loaner gun and it broke after a few months of a little bit of use. It was a loaner gun so it wasn't used much, but the gearbox cracked badly. The body also cracked and the hop up ripped out of the holes it was mounted with. It was pretty much a total loss, it wasn't even worth fixing. While it was alive, it was great. I had no issues with it untill it died, but once it did it didn't just break a little, it exploded.

Well if you're talking about ICS in general the externals vary. Like their AK for example is metal coated plastic. So I am not sure if you heard about that might be all their metal guns, but I only heard about the AK so you'll have to look into that.

Thanks for the rebuttal guys, a lot of the references made were some what quite helpful. Thought I'm still looking for a specific answer towards the internals of an ICS Brand weapon.

Here's some advice, NEVER fix things that arn't broken. If you want specific answers on the internals then you'll need to find a techie review on one (google) and possibly contact the owner of one.

I'd have to agree. Leave it alone if it's working fine. If something breaks, replace it with better parts. But I would just leave it be if there isn't something wrong with it.

I agree with the both of you as well on this with not tampering unless needed too.

ICS makes poor quality products.

A powerful statement, Andrew, but can you tell me what makes it so poor.

Well it could cause a "chain reaction" but like I said I know nothing about the V.4's internals so you'll have to google that.
