I want my gun to get reception all the time, what do I need to achieve this?

Perhaps satellite radio is wrong for your gun, maybe try going back to FM or AM for better reception...

Which satellite radio provider are you using? Sirius or XM? If you are not willing to pay the monthly fees, you may want to use HD radio. Only equipment required is an HD receiver that you can purchase at any Radio Shack or Walmart.
