so i just inherited one of these and know very little about black powder. I'm planning on bringing it up to sac for Erin and a few others to drool over (yes i'll bring the m14 adn the gsg-5), but need to know where i can get black powder and shot for it. I'm assuming the crooked a$$ gun store in San Leandro and San Jose that are closest to me won't carry them. So, i figured I'd ask you Slacramento boys (and girls) and andrews
The Gun Room in Elk Grove claims to have everything that black powder shooters need.
Not a huge fan of the gun room but they do have some random ammo types.
Sportsmens wearhouse in Rocklin has a ton of black powder stuff.

Unfortunately I have no knowledge on black powder guns yet. Best thing I can says is use your google-fu and find some forums. I know there are a ton of people who still shoot and hunt with muzzle-loaders. POOF!!!

Congrats!I have a friend that has one and we went out and shot it one saturday. They are a blast to shoot but it will get old reloading it.They make an awesome sound when they shoot too!
The gun room has a tiny selection for black powder firearms, just a few different ammo types and some cleaning supplies. I collect and shoot black powder guns, and the best place I've found in the sacramento area for BP accessories is the sportsmans wearhouse. Still limited though, mostly modern inline type stuff. I don't know of a store that sells actual black powder, they sell the black powder substitutes for inlines and such, but if you want actual black powder there are a few stores online you can order from, but they have regulations out the butt for shipping such a thing.
Nothing like a huge bang and a cloud of smoke!
