Ok the 65w power supply cable for my HP broke, can a 95w power cable run the thing SAFELY without damaging it or do I need to buy the replacement one. Thanks for your help.

nope, it will overpower the CD drive and the CD will fly out slicing your jugular vein in which you bleed out in 30 seconds.... its not advised :lol:

If the voltage is correct is should work just fine, many of the Generic Targus-Fit-All power adapters have a higher Amperage because it is more harmful to under-supply the device.
