I'm so sorry to hear this. I heard about it on the radio yesterday and thought what a horible thing to happen, let alone on Christmas eve. My thoughts and prayers are with your friend, please update us about his family.

Better late than never: his mom and sister survived. Smud paid them out of court. The gas line was leaking for days on end and they just never came out to fix it even though neighbors reported it for days.
