Hairy's projects (M1928 Thompson added)
OK, I have desided to start upgrading my guns one at a time. I think I am going to start with the Thompson seeing as it's my main gun.

Started the weathering today. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I also took the really ugly painted on trades off. Personally I thought they really took away from the look of the thompson. After I get the wood kit I'll stain and weather it as well.

Well, all the parts (minus the wood kit) to get started on the Thompson are ordered and on there way. TM gearbox, TM hop, 9.6 batteries, tightbore, new bushings and some other little bits and stuff should all be here by the end of the week and then I can get started.

Carbine update. Stock TM gearbox. Fiberglass cloth and resin used to reenforce where I graphed the carbine to the m14 stock after breaking it in half. Removed the flap on the butt plate, and added the pouch to hide the lack of cutout for the sling. Next I will be working on a simple reciever/gearbox cover and rear sights.

The magazine pouch covers it mostly but cool looking anyway.

Added a new project. Airsharp 1919A4. I got it used and it had some minor wiring issues. It was painted a really light grey, almost primer looking. I repainted it a dark grey Rustoleum "hammered" paint and it looks MUCH better. The wires had broken off the back of the motor so I replaced the motor and rewired it a little. Shoots now however the ammo drive is broken and just not up to the task. I am going to replace it with a box mag from a modern SAW and just hide it in the ammo can.

Been working one the reciever for the carbine finally. It's coming along, a lot of trial and error right now, but I think I have a basic idea of how to get this thing to work. Keep in mind, this is just mocked up right now. I need to trim and cut and bondo this all a lot more. But you get the idea. I think will look halfway good when done.

Wow the carbine is looking great and I like the pistols grip on the Thompson. I can't wait to see the finished product.

The Browing is pretty cool, but it's not all that practial for normal airsoft games. I want to build some ladder sights for it and a charging handle and a few other little details. I worked on the magazine a bit today before I started on the carbine, so hopfully tomarrow I'll have the 1919 shooting.

I really hated how hard the feed tube was to get into the magwell of the 1919 quickly.....

a mortar? thats good stuff right there... screw the bipod, the whole point of having that big screw is so you can have precise adjustments in trajectory

looks great! what route did you decide on?
It's going to use m203 rounds. If I can't get enough range out of them, I have a secondary design that will basicly be a co2 powered potato gun. My friend and I built a compressed air one last year and it had amazing range. I just really want to use m203 shells for fast reloading and a more realistic firing. The bipod and base plate are the harder parts, the barrel will be easy to change out if the m203 design doesn't work.
