Army Question?
Hey everyone, as some of you know I'm enlisted in the U.S. Army as 11x infantry, (they don't offer 11b, or 11c as direct enlistments anymore)

I havent served, but one thing the recruiter told me when I went asking about 18x, is that you cant go SF unless youre 21 or older. So you might want to consider going to RIP and becoming a Ranger, and then make the choice about SF when you turn 21.
I'll leave your question to someone more knowledgeable on the process.
RIP is if you're going into regiment. Ranger isn't required for SF but it helps. You'll need some experience before you have a viable packet to put in for SFAS. Oh an until its written into your contract you won't be getting Airborne but if you do get it written in, if you fail ANYTHING they can take it away from you.

If you have something special written into your contract (especially Ranger School or the like) and you fail say a PT test they can use that as a breech of contract on your part and send you where ever they want for whatever they need. Doesn't mean they will but they can.

Well actually if it is written into your contract you will get it, it may not be off the bat but you will earn it.
God save us everyone will be burning inside the fires of a thousand suns.

I haven't served but my friend in high school had it in his contract for SF and he failed so he spent the rest of his career driving trucks for the Army. He was not happy.
okay, nobody addressed this but, since you have already signed a contract w/ no duty station if i'm correct? "army needs"?

Starting off as a E-3 is good because you get a little bit more money starting, but you get treated no different, you'll still be a joe/ private/ whatever they decide to call you :)
