Ok, so i have decided to undergo the task of trying to make a custom wood M40A3 stock. The only thing i need to know is what type of wood i should use. So does anyone know?

Walnut is good. Heavy but good. Maple to. Call a gun store and ask them what alot of wood stocks are made of. Use what RS gun manufactures use.

maple is what i thought but just wanted to make sure.

yeah my uncle is a wood worker and he made a bed out of the stuff and some metal and let me just say it wasnt cheap. lol
