car question not related to airsoft

last saturday i was driving and the temperture gauge was just below the red line, i pulled over and popped the hood. coolant was splattered all over the engine and the inside of the hood. i discovered that the radiator broke where the top hose connects to the top of the radiator. i ordered a new radiator and installed it and put in new coolant.

Stupid question... but.. does it sound like a motor noise to you? Or is is there a chance there is something else loose that is vibrating and it just happened to start around the same time as your other problem.

there are usually little clips on the fan shroud sometimes they don't get all the way tight or it could be your fan hitting something

have you tried putting it in neutral and popping hood, then have someone accelerate to the RPM that does the noise and you look for the culprit?

So this morning the sound seems to have dissipated a bit. However the temperature gauge isn't working, the top hose and bottom hose are getting hot so coolant is flowing in and out of the engine.

You should replace the thermostat.
