I have an old M4 inner barrel I'm trying to shorten up a bit. I'm guessing that simply taking a hack saw to the barrel might result in a substantial drop in accuracy or something else not good. Would that be a pretty good guess or should I just saw this som'b1tch in half?

Eh.. good luck. Maybe someone on here can give you an idea how to do it right. I had a hard time getting the barrel cut it and messed up the accuracy pretty bad. I know people cut them without problems so hopfully someone can tell you how to do it right.

clean it up a bit with a counter sink and it will be fine.
