Once I finish the touch ups on my space ship evading zombies will be a thing of the past. Assuming none get on board,if theres one thing thats worse than regular zombies. Its space zombies.

back to the priginal subject, my grandparents were paranoid, and built a bomb shelter in the 80's because the russians were still a "huge" threat, i know how to get to their old house from mine on all backroads, get there with my trusty few shotguns and hold up for a little slowly clearing the area and eventually becoming a brain nomming zombie like everyone else

Assuming a zombie "invasion" actually occured it would most likely be infected not zombie and there would not be an immediate outbreak that just suddenly hit every little town in the world all at once. my guess is it would be a "i am legend" style invasion where over a month to a couple of month the infected would spread. that being said:
Russel Crowe- whether its a skirt in gladiator or tights in master and commander, he can still kick your ass.

In all seriousness there are a few things required in a situation like this beside a firearm. First, If your in a group you will mostly like be looting to acquire goods so a good Halligan bar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halligan_bar for starters. And an axe to go along with it would be helpful if you know how to use them together.
