Is there a Difference in Gear Boxes with a type of gun?

Feb 6, 2009 1:43am
What I mean by TYPE of gun is for example, when I say MP5 I mean all MP5s

Several things are different...Triggers, cylinders (diff. types for diff. barrel lengths), and selector plate are different for each gun.

That gearbox will go right in to that gun.

For the 2 motors you suggested, Is there a preference, does one do something the other doesn't or are they both just about the same and it doesn't matter which I pick.

I have more experience with the guarder motors. They are an excellent quality and under $50. The systemas float a bit below $100 and I can't say I'm impressed with how long they last.

Lower spring rate = lower fps, yes. It will also increase your ROF btw. A SP120 or M120 or a PPA 120 might be over 400 fps still. But yeah, a lower spring rate and 400 fps or lower and you can use the gun in games.

Awesome, then swapping springs shouldn't be that big of a problem. I guess I can compete after all. Haha.

The Systema Teflon Cylinder and Systema Pistons are one of the best around. That Gear Box you have chosen comes with those parts already. Your good to go. You will not need any other parts since it is a complete GB. The Silent Head Set is something you can think about later. I dont believe they offer it anymore in their complete GB's. They cost around $55.00.

IMO i dont think an airsoft gun would be very good as a house defense gun sure your not gonna kill someone if you shoot em but it aint gonna do more then piss em off i would think, seems like you would be wasting money to put all this work into it to have it be a paperweight. this is not a flame just my observation.

I hear you about the self defense thing, but the gun won't be complete paper weight. I haven't bought the Gearbox yet. So I can choose one with a spring that won't shoot so hard so I can actually use the gun for the sport of it rather for the non sense reason I stated earlier.

A while back, we were talking about suggested motors for the Gear Box with a m150 Spring.
