I notice that the charging handle on the metal body sportline did not open the dust flap. is that on all of them? or did i just get a broken one. curious.

All Classic Army Armalite models with metal bodies are like that. The charging handle won't open the dust cover, the only thing keeping it closed is a small magnet.
