i am soon to be getting a TM m16 i believe its the a2 varient and was wondering, in your opinion what should be added/ done to this weapon?

I would suggest an R.I.S. for sure, unless you want to be an authentic classic looking rifle with superb internal upgrades that would be cool.

Do what's effective, comfortable, and cool to you.
Play with the gun in the same condition you bought it in for a while. Try as many different types of games as possible and that will let you know what accessories (if any) you would like to get. Ask to hold and examine other guns from players at games. I kept my M16 mostly stock (externally) for quite a while until I decided what changes I wanted to make. Once I had an idea of what I was looking for I just watched the Private Seller forums until the parts were up for sale. The only brand new parts on my M16 are on the inside, everything else was bought used.
I have always acted in self defense, occasionally pre-emptive self defense.
