your bb's would role out or you would have no hop even on the highest hopup setting. The nub doesn't get worn out just the bucking itself. Most of the problems that stem with the nub is that people lose it when they change the inner barrel.

technically the 4th definition is what happens inside of the cylinder of a car but its sorta close i guess.

Hmm definition #4 I think not, no combustion that I'm aware of going on in there.

Perfect, I knew that there wasn't any combustion of some some in the gearbox, I was just saying that could be as close to the concept as it could be.

Usually just stretching and lubing the o-ring will fix a leak like that.

So basically the O-ring is the source of keeping the air within the Cylinder.

the cylinder will never develop any new holes unless you intentionally drill some.
