My MP5 broke again.

Feb 15, 2009 3:10am
I was airsofting today with my TM mp5 then all of a sudden it started shooting full auto. I wasnt touching the trigger. While it was shooting i switched the gun to saftey but it kept going. It kept shooting for maybe 3 seconds more and then it just stopped. I tried to pull the trigger and nothing happend. I checked to see if the motor was disconnected but it wasnt. I charged my battery and still nothing. Anyone know what this could be?

It sounded to me like your trigger assembly broke and the contacts were stuck in the trigger assembly. Do you do your own gear box work.

I try.

Time for a new trigger assembly.
I have always acted in self defense, occasionally pre-emptive self defense.

Did you put the trigger spring in correctly? Well anyways your switch assembly is fried. Go buy a new one.

I have an active break mosfet in there. Isnt that supposed to protect the trigger assembly from something?

It will protect it from electrical issues but not mechanical. I say this being NOT an electrical expert. However I have seen that problem before. The problem was someone installed the trigger retun spring backwards. I dont know how but they did. It created a backwards pressure on the trigger mech and shoved the switch in the fire postion and left the circuit open.

I had this happen before with my old mp5, and it was just the selector switch on the outside of the gearbox.

what was wrong with the selector plate?

I just opened up the gun. The trigger contacts and selector plate were not touching. I opened up the fuse case and the fuse was broken. I put in one of my replacement fuses and plugged the battery in. The fuse immediatly blew out.

what happened with mine, there was a crack in the selector plate, and it did cause my fuse to break, so I had to replace the fuse, as well. Check for a crack in the thin piece on the selector plate
