knives & airsoft

Feb 18, 2009 12:21am
often when i play airsoft with my buddies and so on i bring my little 5.5 inch pocket knife with me, it comes in great handy to me. for example i can make a hole in a thick bush for a sniper shot or ambush or dig myself a foothold in a steep wall or mabe just leave it on the ground to distract an enemy to get a shot. this is kindove a noobesh question as i am a noob  but does anyone ever use knives at sacair games. are they even aloud. i searched under the key word knife and didn't find much except the CQBC incident which i still don't understand the knife killing ref so i would just want to be informed and not show up at a game with a unwanted item.. any help would be appreciated

I think they are fine so long as they are used as a tool: cutting tape, cutting zip ties, etc. Don't even think about pulling one out during a game for a knife kill, it'd be a quick way to a insta-ban. Heck, I'd he hesitant to even pull a knife out DURING a game.

umm was anyone there when some dude cut his hand open at the NAM field just screwing around? Someone ended up taking him into the E.R. and i thought at that moment the no knife rule went into effect.

Dwight Schrute cut a CPR dummy's face off. Then wore it like a mask. Epic.

I'm really not a big fan of rubber or rebated knives being used for kills in airsoft (despite being a huge fan of hand to hand violence) for the exact reasons wraith stated. As far as real stuff goes, I could careless what you carry, its not my business so long as you are not trying to cut someones lips off :D then its everyone business lol

Most "knife kills" I've seen aren't realistic anyways. In the real world slashing techniques look cool and would make more of a psychological impact anyways due to all the blood. A true knife-kill would mean thrusting the end of the knife, with full body weight, into a vital organ of the target. And this would just be unsafe out there while airsofting, even with a rubber knife.
