Hi guys,
British and proud! SAS impression in the works, I am always on the lookout for likeminded airsofters who enjoy a mix of both Milsim and casual play.

if you plan on selling it soon, buy everything used. Except maybe for the gear. If you buy things new you'll take a loss.

Taking it to England shouldn't be a problem at all, the airsoft scene over the pond is HUGE. You'll have to mail it to yourself most likely, but it shouldn't be a problem. Google the laws for the area, figure out all the legal bits, and you'll probably be heading back with a sweet setup.

Oh brilliant! I haven't lived there for about 8 years, all I know is that anyone under 18 has to get a license for their gun, or half of it has to be plastic, etc. Thanks! Any recommendations on guns though? I called up AEX and one guy told me KWA and the other said classic army. I'm also really interested in the new Masada and some of VFC's guns, but like I said, no bloody idea which of those I should go with.

Both CA and KWA are great out of the box, and I don't think you'd be unhappy with either. For both the TM 226 and the TM 1911 are airsoft legend, and the KWA's are also solid as a rock. Your best bet is to go into AEX and talk to the staff, touch all the guns and hold them, you'll find what you want. I've been going into AEX for years, and they've never pointed me in the wrong direction.

i would recocmend and KWA or VFC, i own both and they are sitting right next to me as i type this, lol. anyways, KWA's are VERY solid and built well and mine has the 2gx gear box with 9mm ball bearing bushings, VFCs are also build well, as they are CNC machined and have good internals, but if you only have $750 to spend go whith a KWA. they are extremely good for the price. i got a kwa sr12 for $423 new with a scope and a bipod, yes thats expensive, but not all thier guns are over $400.

So I talked to the guys at AEX again, and they told me that KWA's are unreliable because of proprietary parts. Can anyone else confirm this or at least explain why this would make a KWA bad for a new player?

I think I am going to go with a near-future SAS kit, a Tokyo Marui FN 5-7 (The standard pistol for heavy personnel is currently the FN Browning) and the Magpul PTS Masada. I'd like to stand out a bit on the field, but I'm still going with the SAS theme, but I think this adjustment will do nicely. In five years I wouldn't be surprised if the standard side arm for UKSF changed to the 5-7, and the Masada/ACR isn't beyond belief either. But then again, I might just really like the look and reputation of both the guns.
