Watched both videos. You have a good kit, just a few suggestions:

Got a list of stuff? A lot of people aren't too big on videos.

Thanks for the suggestions Ninja! It helped with my list of things to get. So far I have batteries, and TP (basic house items), but all the other things you said I still need to pick up.

Remember, check on the supplies in your first aid kit and water filtration often. Rotate it out if it is expired. Antibiotic cream or iodine tablets are next to useless if they are expired.

a BOB is useless without a plan.

I am fairly sure they have a shelf life, since it is a chemical based reaction that purifies the water.

my bag of tricks varies greatly depending on how far away from home I'm going to be. I always have a weapon and medical supplies on hand though.

sounds great, plus the fact that you have alot of fire starting things is a huuuuge bonus, if it came down to it, hand-sanitizer, and wd-40 are both flammable, pine needles and some dry wood. but if you have saaaay, a pistol belt get to loops or a hatchet holster w/ a hatchet , IMHO one of survivals best tools

Boiling, distilling, and various other methods only get rid of some of the micro organisms. You still haven't fully address the issue with possible chemicals.
