Hi I am a local airsofter. My friends and I have been playing out at the old mather airforce base, and up untill recently the cops hav'nt bothered us. Now we have been told we will be arrested on sight and fined for being there. Does anyone know who we should talk to, in order to open this field up and not risk persecution from the law? Should we form a non-profit and pull insurance protection? Im totally at a loss here and being the leader of the group, i'm the one everyone is looking to. Any ideas?

Sorry, not going to happen. Just come to SacAir games, all of ours are perfectly legal fields. Stay away from Maither for your own sake and for airsoft in general.
Tommyknocker2121 is right... SacAir games or drive out to the middle of the forest where no one can find you.

It is legal to play near Ice House because that is Forrest Service land. BLM is also legal. There are some permits/insurance required for certain circumstances involving large groups, but that is the only legal issues outside of basic California laws, such as brandishing.

to answer your question when no one else would 1. if you are an adult you stand better chances of being listened to ( not here though ) any way find out who owns the property or manages and see if you can meet with them , if you can imply some sort of social benefit for them for you playing there. i beleive it is under city or county control, 2. there are at least pay to play fields in the area ukaus, davis, and capitol. sacair admins were hosting games at the nam feild up till about a month ago but with weather and there schedule not much has been happening ther lately 3. generally you dont need ins. just permission and safety
