Still not perfect. Zoom in, find Aretha Franklin with that horrendous hat. The dude in front of her got half of his head chopped off.

Under $400. You take one point and shoot, a huge MC, and thousands and thousands of zoomed pictures with the GigaPan System. Stitch it all together and blam! gigapixel picture of epicness.

Hey Spock, the image isn't made from a single digital file from a camera, it's actually hundreds of single images stitched together to make the giant image. There is no digital camera that has this kind of resolution. I actually have the same device that was used to make this photo, it's called a GigaPan Epic. You can see it here: www.gigapansystems.com. It's only $379! So if you have a 5 megapixel camera, this unit could take 275 images and you'd have your 1,000+megapixel image. Pretty cool.

Correct, it's many pics digitized together. There's a website up and coming in which people will be able to produce their own gigapan.
