I just bought a KWA M4. I am very happy with the gun, except for the hop-up. It seams like increasing the hop-up does nothing to add backspin, and more loft to the bb. Instead, it's almost like it makes the bb dive even more. I am pretty sure I am turning it the right way, clockwise (the direction of the arrow on the dial). Is the hop-up on my gun a lemon, and do I need to send it back? No matter what I do to the dial, I don't get any loft. Thanks for any insight you can provide.
When I bought my KWA, I had the same problem. However, upon inspection, I found that the bucking had some silicone oil/lubrication on it. I assume KWA adds this to prevent the rubber from drying out? But after a few hundred rounds, the lubrication wore off and the hop up works fine. The inner barrels are kinda screwy, so I would recommend a tight-bore.

I'm also experiencing problems with the hop up. I cleaned the barrel and noticed an improvement. I have not shot it enough to wear the lube off the bucking.
small issue i noted on my kwa compact m4 was a loose hop up dial. it was loose almost to the point of not functioning, let alone being stable. try tightening the small set screw on the adjustment dial if you're still experiancing inconsistancy.
Anyone else with KWA hopup issues?
when i first got my KWA M4 the hop up could not be adjusted. I took it to the folks at AEX and they said it was some kind of washer or something got stuck so it was preventing the hop up from working properly.
