XBOX 360 RROD
So my xbox did this to me, probably 6 months ago and I just kinda left it alone. Then yesterday I started looking on the interwebs seeing if i could find any tips on doing it yourself.

yeah if you did more searching, Microsoft would repair it and ship it back, or give you a new one, for free, but now that you took it apart you voided the warranty. I told them, and shipped it 2 days later, and it took 10 days to get back to me.

Well before accusing me of not "researching" I was very aware that I could ship it to Microsoft If my warranty was not up, unfortunately it was already up because I've had the xbox for over 2 years. Now I have heard hearsay that you can send it in anyway even if you've had it for more then 2, but then again I don't give a shit enough and wanted, I say again, wanted to fix it myself.

Yep, i had the drive crap out on my Xbox and did not want to send it in and wait almost a month. So i looked online and found a youtube vid to replace the drive and to my surprise it worked. Also, you dont need that tool to open the case that they recommend, just use a wire coat hanger to get the tabs. It is actually quite easy once you get started.
I don't carry a gun to scare people.
i wrapped mine in a blanket and left it on for like half an hour...and its fixed, lol.

aw yes the "towel trick". I've been told not to do that method because it cooks the cpu and gpu.
