That is sad, and that one pig sounded like the predator!

Ok, that some parts was VERY misleading. The whole thing about cancerous eyes and such is bull (heh). Unless you eat the freaking eye/part from the head, it doesn't taint the meat so there is no problem. Furthermore, sows are confined to small cages so they don't crush their piglets, and it can happen to the entire litter. And that bolt gun is used to kill first, then throats are slit for draining the blood the twitching pigs are dead, not alive.

no no joke its a paper i have to write about, im with you jake the freaking pain killers? common right? waste of more money instead of prices already high for meat goods - not its gonna be at least 3.00-5.00 more if they used freaking pain killers - besides better to sell those meds to people - who are higher on the food chain.

Whew, Viper. I thought you actually believed this stuff. I hear this stuff ALL the time, mostly because my family has been ranching for generations. I have seen/heard these arguments SO much it becomes reflex to respond. Most of these people who see/make these videos take it as fact and never even go to operations to see what they actually do. And jake is right, they only use a few odd operations and generalize from there.

Having spent many summers as a child working on ranches either family or otherwise and having to kill animals for slaughter or disease reasons

I am curious about the assignment. What exactly are you supposed to do? Did the teacher show you this video and want your thoughts on it? If you need anymore info just ask, I like to clear up this stuff up.

And the angel of the lord came unto me, snatching me up from my place of slumber. And took me on high, and higher still until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself. And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own midwest. And as we descended, cries of impending doom rose from the soil. One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear. And terror possesed me then. And I begged, "Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots! You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust." And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared, "Hear me now, I have seen the light! They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses!

The beauty of the discussion of consciousness and feelings is this:

We might not have these crazy diseases and viruses if there weren't cramped and caged cesspools to begin with.
Gun control is not Crime control.

just a little fyi, the US is one of the best caretakers of animals for food in the world, yet we are the most criticized, kinda weird isn't it?

The only "Mother's milk" is colostrum which is given to the calf when it is born, as it gives the calf the anti-bodies and other immune system enhancements to keep the calf healthy. The rest is not needed by the calf and colostrum in not given to humans. But, you have your right to feel the way you do. I'm not criticizing you, if that is what you think, I'm only trying to give facts as to why producers do what they do.

Very interesting thread viper.
If you give to a charity please think of giving to one of these two charities. The Naval Special Warfare Foundation or Navy SEAL Warrior Fund.

Maybe I'm just a cold hearted bastard but the video didn't bother me... then again gore in general doesn't bother me. Alec Baldwin isn't going to convince me that the delicious double charburger with cheese from Habit Burger that I had today is bad. But that fatty doesn't look like hes a vegan either.

The video didnt bother me much either. Well, except for the castration. Not that I disagree with it, but it was kinda gross to watch.

ever watch V, well if not they are doing a remake ;)
